Elkan began his extensive career in the energy sector, particularly in fuel retail; in 2007. Under his leadership, he has efficiently managed a number of successful retail service stations in Namibia. His vast experience includes heading the Operations Training at Vivo Energy, Lafrenz Training Centre, where he prides himself as having trained a number of service station managers.

He joined MIH in 2023 as the Retail Operations Manager. To complement to his technical experience, he plans on furthering his academic endeavours to broaden his theoretical understanding of the fuel industry.
